Full Circle Yurts
As well as hand-crafting willow coffins and baskets, Cath also runs a dedicated business for yurts; Full Circle Yurt Hire.
Using her experience and knowledge of Willow and Ash craftsmanship, Full Circle produce steam-bent, hand-finished frames treated with a natural oil such as linseed, which are then covered in made-to-fit, fire-retardant waterproof 15oz canvas, available in both olive green and white.
Yurts are available to hire or buy.
Yurts For Funerals
Alongside our willow coffins, we provide hand-made Yurts for funerals making our sustainable, crafted willow yurts part of a natural ceremony. An alternative funeral space for wakes and funeral ceremonies, our yurts create intimate, sensitive spaces where friends and family can say farewell to a loved one.
We understand that you are saying goodbye to a loved one, which is always difficult, yurts are a magical spiritual space and are still lived in, in many parts of the world.
Cath herself as had many happy times bringing up her family in the shelter of a yurt. This is why she believes they are an ideal space for an alternative way of saying farewell & sending someone on their final journey.
Cath takes particular care and delight in providing her yurts with an appropriate interior for a fond caring ceremony. We provide a classic costermonger's cart for ease of movement of the beloved, while entering and leaving the yurt. Seating can be provided as part of the package.
The aim of this service is to provide an environmentally sustainable less formal ceremony to fit in with green interments.
It is important to realize that there are no restrictions on where the funeral service / ceremony can be held. A yurt can be erected close to the burial, leaving no trace after the event and allowing older or less able members to join in the farewell.
A natural ceremony is not just for the bereaved it can be an inspiring event for all concerned. Many people feel more comfortable with a gentle informal sendoff. The event can be adjusted to the timing of the day, allowing time for meditation on a life. Allowing the ceremony to proceed at its own pace.
As our yurts are so personal, we really encourage you to get in touch to discuss your needs.
After spending 3 years living in a yurt in the Forest Of Dean, making yurts has become a passion in life, as well as basket making, and it is a good way to provide low impact low cost but comfortable and secure housing.
